It is little doubt that Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) is making massive political inroads into constituencies held by Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) and Pesaka wing of Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu (PBB), following constant visits made by Anwar Ibrahim, de facto leader of PKR and other leaders to Sarawak. And starting from this month the frequency of such visits and political talks will be intensified as Sarawak is approaching the next state election.
It seems that only PRS is very worried, while SPDP and Pesaka are just brushing aside PKR influence in their areas, although their seats are also equally vulnerable.
Several PRS leaders have expressed their concerns to Dr. James Masing and have told him that if reports from the ground are any indications, the party may lose as many as eight seats in the coming election. Such reports put PRS in a dilemma so much so that some members even want Masing to bring PRS out of Barisan to “save” the party. And they say there is no point in staying in the BN family when the party has no future and has lost its fighting spirit.
For instance, none of its YBs and leaders dares to speak for Dayaks’ rights such as on NCR land and issues that tend to oppress and suppress the Dayaks, even though it claims to represent the Dayak community.
And those who dare to speak will find themselves in hot water. Beginda Minda, a Masing strong supporter, is a good example. Beginda, who has accused PBB of a big bully and called on Abdul Taib Mahmud and Alfred Jabu to resign, was forced to leave the party.
But up to this day Masing is adamant in remaining with the State Barisan even though his party may lose some of its grassroots leaders and members to PKR. Understandably, Masing has to think of the overall interests of the party, the perks and the comfort that he and other PRS leaders enjoy by remaining in the Barisan.
But that stand of Masing makes some members of the supreme council unhappy and angry. One supreme council member even threatened to resign not only as a supreme council member, but from the party as well.
For SPDP, it is not worried at all about PKR, even though PKR is very active in its constituencies and has been wooing its leaders and supporters. Its deputy president Peter Nyarok described PKR’s plan to conquer Sarawak as “something that can only be achieved in imagination, not in reality”.
Likewise, Pesaka is also not concerned with activities carried out by PKR in its constituencies, because, according to Dr. Stephen Rundi, a Pesaka leader and secretary general of PBB, PKR lacks credibility as well having no capable leaders who can take care of the interests of Sarawakians.

From their statements, it is obvious that SPDP and Pesaka are the least worried and do not believe that the so-called political tsunami that swept five states in West Malaysia into the hands of the Opposition can happen here. SPDP and Pesaka leaders say that Anwar and his Pakatan Rakyat are only dreaming.
Before the March elections, complacency was all around in the BN component parties in West Malaysia and when the tsunami did come, they were caught with their pants down and ran helter-skelter. By then it was too late to “save” Selangor, Kedah, Perak, Penang and Kelantan.

"none of its YBs and leaders dares to speak for Dayaks’ rights such as on NCR land and issues that tend to oppress and suppress the Dayaks" ... for people in Kapit..they want to be connected via road with the rest of Sarawak. That's it..but who care? who want to listen to their cries..after 45 years of independent?
Well, in West Malaysia they said who is PKR? Even Najib called it parti kurang relevan only to face total defeat as the PKR led coalition took majority vote in the peninsular. Badawi asked: Who is Anwar? Only to leave power bcoz of him. Just wait for the day dreamers and we will see what would be their end. Arrogance has gone into their fibres and they can't see the impending deluge. Khir Toyo of Selangor bragged that he will make Selangor a zero opposition state, only to lose 42 seats to the opposition in the state and thus lose all power. Lets wait and then we will see how they respond to their defeat at the right time. For now, let them say what they want.
PKR boss Anwar Ibrahim is expected to make a major announcement at a gathering in Miri tomorrow night.
Except for those close to PKR leadership, no one knows what he want to announce. Hopefully it is about some wise YBs from the BN jumping ship to PKR?
none of its YBs and leaders dares to speak for Dayaks’ rights such as on NCR land and issues ..
this problem will be continues as long the dayaks bn yb still want bo become a "tahi mahnuk membership"
Today..PBB,SPDP & PRS .. constituencys are save again to them..or may i say they will lost the battle.
so..to the president of prs, spdp and their yb...please don't wait ,,think about it.
We..new dayaks know what are we want to be..
we can make it..
To us..
"mesin taip" is a "silence Disrupter" to dayaks.
Let SPDP and PBB wallow in the thought their position is not threatened because for PKR the best weapon is your enemy's lowering of the guards. When it finally comes they would not even know what hit them and hitthem hard!
PKR Strong Supporters
Now when Pak Lah and Najib they dare not mention Anwar and PKR's names. Everytime they have to mention any of the names they shake all over from top to bottom! Why? Because like the 50 tonner coming down the top of the road in the logging country, the Earth shake when Anwar dries past by!
In Sarawak PKR workingwith DAP AND PAS And other Opposition Parties will take the Chinese, Malay and Dayak areas and the BN will leave with one or two seats. Yes, PRS will lose all 8 seats, maybe Masing will be the longer survivor, that is if he is still contesting.
They are also in denial more and is obvious that they have lost touch, not only with who put them there, but even their ordinary members.
I had the opportunity to talk to one of the parties division committee and they are also very exasperated with the behaviour and attitude of Taib mahmud.
I believe this augurs well for our agenda in toppling BN Sarawak.
Dayaks all this while have never been united.they are only united when their is a wild boar been killed and everyone will want a share. That's the only time they will stay together.Nowadays their are lots of dayaks who will betray their own party for the sake of a few dirty ringgit.
Taib knows very well that the dayaks have never been united and are easily manipulated.
So for the dayaks to stand up and be counted ,they MUST first of all put their own longhouse in order.
They can dreams all the dreams but in the end never have any of their dreams materialise.I don't mean they can't have dreams,be it sweet dreams or nightmare, but what I'm saying is they must think of some ways to come together and be united in their effort to be on par with other race.We are lagging too far behind and yet we are still dreaming about forming world dayak rubbish.Come back to earth and be realistic, not building castles in the air.
Just run through this blog and see for yourself how many dayaks have been contributing any ideas to make the dayaks a better race.
When I say something not nice about the dayaks ,some balless anonymous came in and start barking. He or she don't even have a name to begin with. This shows what this dayaks,if indeed he or she is, mentality is all about.I may hide behind my name,NEIL ,but at least I have a name to begin with, whether it's my name or not doesn't really matters.
Back to the topic,PRS is definately worried becos their house is in a mess and crumbling. Most of it's members are ready to jump ship.Look at Aron Dagang,Joseph Salang etc. They are seldom seen with Masing and when reporters asked him where they are,he always tell lies by saying that these MPs are in their kampongs, which in fact is not true. With Dublin unting lying in the hospital, fighting for his life after a serious coma,PRS till now dare not call for fresh election to replace him.Just imagine that Masing have to come to this stage whereby to call a election is a nightmare. His support is dwindling fast and I can assure you all that once his lost his grip to PRS,and if Larry soon takes over, most of the MPs will be in PKR,even before dawn breaks.
If masing still have the support of the majority, today he will be after Taib ,demanding that his NCR land be surveyed and registered so that he can sell them to the Towkays.
The only person who have a vision and walk his talk is Gabriel Adit. How many dayaks are like him, venturing into unknown territories! He will be rewarded when PKR make inroad into Sarawak. Many who went to PKR congress as a fence sitter came back still pondering. They are directionless and only waiting for Apai to show them the way.
So PRS,you will surely be doomed and the dayaks will all be lead blindly for another decade.
Dayaks, just count how many times have your party been 'chop up'.Now how the dayaks have been splitted and scattered.Scratch your head and ponder! This is the truth not wild allegations.Only those who are stubborn will never accept this.
My kampong has twelve lomghouses. It has about 700 registered voters. The kampong folks there do not know what is PKR, may be no body ever came to tell them about PKR. So, PKR there is not popular.
remember..becareful with Baginda Minda..he's tok uban & sng spy..be careful my fren...be careful....he'll do anything for money..he's talam 10000 muka..once he's with anwar then tajem..then sng..then masing & now PKR..he's the one ngancur ka bansa dayak..
Jetty,See what I mean, till now,5 out of ten comments comes from anonymous. So this shows what I say is true. This people dare not register and have not faith in the broken shield thinking that by registering their identities will be known.
When people read this blog and with so many anonymous, their first impression is that what is written by this anonymous are rubbish becos they don't even dare to put in a name. And if we wanr to reply to one anonymous then we have to copy the whole comment instead of just stating his or her name ,even if it's not their real name.
Improve your blog,Jetty.Thrown out anonymous comments!
The problems with us dayaks are, we dare not speak our mind, we prefer beating around the bushes and we try not to offend others. Basically, we are very gentle people but the irony is, through this values and culture we are being taken full advantage of.
Look at our dayak politicians, how many of them dare speak their mind? Unless they dare to unite and count themselves as one voice, their chances of having any political clout is zero. In the BN, they are but blind followers.
If PBB bosses were to ask them to jump they will simply ask "how high". We need to take the first step of speaking our mind at all costs if we want to see any progress in our community.
Excuse me.. EX PC Agom??
PKR not popular?? If you are representing 700 Dayaks in your kampung, being naive and not wanting to know about your surrounding, that's the reason why Dayaks are always about 20 years behind time. This is the truth. After conquering 5 states, the longhouses surrounding you doesn't know about PKR?? It MUST be you, who I can consider you "INTELIGENT", (if not you won't know about BLOGS or Internet, for that matter )don't tell the rural dayaks about how PKR can help and the ONLY solution to our Dayak misery today. All our Dayak leaders are just ASSHOLE.
Dear all,
let's have constructive, meaningful disucssions and within the bounds of law in this blog. We should not incide feelings if ill-will and be provocative and confrontational. We should not assassinate the characters of anyone. We can criticise the policies and stances of political leaders, but not after their characters. Those who disagree can go to the Sarawak Talk where they can write anything under the sun. This message is specially directed to the likes of Neil.
"The Broken Shield"
The first volume has been very "eye-opening" and provide insights into where Dayak were then and what we will be heading ...
Good to to have discourse - agree to disagree.
I am touched by what NEIL (is he/she a Dayak or if he is, is he/she an Iban?).
Neil wrote on Dec 12 2008: ... World Dayak Fedration
(1) What a dream ...
(2) On Tuai Rumah ...
(3) Dayaks ... Go back to your longhouse ...
(4) On Apai Semalau ... use of vulgar language
Neil wrote on Dec 13 2008 ... PRS ...
(1) Dayak NEVER united ...
(2) Put longhouse in order ...
(3) Forming Dayak rubbish ...
(4) Just run thru the blog ...
Neil is a "learned man" on his own right. He/she wanted the Dayak to be united to "weather the storm" that decide the destiny of the Dayak Community with the advent of NCR issues, BIZ oportunities, intakes/promotion in Civil Service, the EC re-elination of DUN/MP exercises, etc.
NEIL as a learned man/women, his/her sources of information are many: Research Publication (including "The Coming of the Gods" a PHD Thesis by Dr. James, "Modernization among the Iban of Sarawak" by Dr. M. Kedit), Articles/Journals, Academic Text-books for students doing Masters and PHD, etc.
A blog owned by DR John A. Brian "Dayakbaru Weblog" would be recommended to Neil. There are good articles there.
Marina Mahathir's blog would also be good to read - her perspective on how she looks at things.
Dr. Dusit Jaol's view on "Leadership" is interesting.
He was on "INTEGRITY" and comes up with an equation: "WHAT YOU THINK=WHAT YOU SAY=WHAT YOU DO".
A person should not be asked to speak or consented to speak on that topic if he/she is tainted with
(1)practices corruption
(2)acting where there is conflict of interest
(3) commits CBT
(4) abuses his/her power
(5)practises nepotism
(6) practices cronyism
My question to Mr/Ms NEIL is: Can he/she assist Dayak (if he/she is one of us)in the most practical term the strategy, plan of action(s), implementation(s) and monitoring mechanism(s) to ensure they are ON TRACK.
Forgive me Mr/Ms NEIL, I may be have eyes but I cannot see, I may have ears but I cannot hear or I may have mouth but cannot speak. because I did't not get your positive imputs apart from common knowledge - PRS worried, SPDP and PBB ....
Dato Seri Idris Jala did just that for MAS! I don't want to share with NEIL for fear that he/she may not be a Dayak or for that matter an IBAN least he/she "hi-jack" the concepts!
THis is what the book on 'SUNTZU ART OF WAR". Don't let your enemies know what you are doing but only to your trusted GENERALs and SOLDIERs.
Anyway, on behalf of "Broken Shield" I wish you well Mr/Ms NEIL. Keep reading and comments in the blog
Maybe Anonymous would like to enlighten us on comments by Apai Semalau on "World dayak Federation" that he/she/it deems "vulgar language". Suggest Anonymous takes more ESL classes because "vulgar language" would not have been tolerated by the moderator either.
PRS President Masing is a powerless president. What could Masing do to the dayak in general? Yes, he could talk, but he couldn't walk the talk.
Masing couldn't even speak up or defend his own choice of candidates like Sophia Brodie and Edmund Sating in the last Federal election when Jabu shot down and replaced those 2candidates with Jabu's own choice - Masir Pijat and Nyallau Rhino. Masing is too coward or chicken.
PRS should be very much worried about the current situation whereby most of the dayak who put their trust and support in them, seem to be outcasted or anak tiri by PRS itself.
PRS failed in it's mission to upgrade the status of the dayak's right.
Who need PRS if PRS is just a white elephant for the dayak? PRS is just like 'ukoi nyalak kampong'.
Masir and Nyallau had never been seen or involved in any PRS functions whereby they are PRS candidates. Masir and Nyallau is 'a pain in the neck' for Masing.
Masing seem to lost control of Lubok Antu constituency where his right hand man - Dublin is still hospitalised due to stroke for nearly a year now. Nicholas Bawin/PKR is from Lubok Antu himself.
Well Masing, it is high time for you to take panadol now.
Mr.Anonymous,
That is fact. If you believe it or not is your business. If you are pro-active, then you should be thankful to me for giving you such information about PKR`s influence in my kampong so that you could rectify the situation there.
Just a word of wisdom from the following 2 frogs story
Two frogs
A group of frogs were traveling through the woods, and two of them fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop, that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down and died.
The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
This story teaches two lessons:
1. There is power of life and death in the tongue. An encouraging word to someone who is down can lift them up and help them make it through the day.
2. A destructive word to someone who is down can be what it takes to kill them.
Be careful of what you say. Speak life to those who cross your path. The power of words... it is sometimes hard to understand that an encouraging word can go such a long way. Anyone can speak words that tend to rob another of the spirit to continue in difficult times. Special is the individual who will take the time to encourage another
Jetty, normally I won't entertain a moron like NEIL..but I think it's time to shut up his mouth..what's the fuss if people want to use anonymous...
To NEIL,
Post your real name here if you dare! See..lu sendiri pun sama. If you want to do provocation do it wisely..no need to brag about small thing such as anonymous...engka bisi sut NEIL tuk..syabas Jetty keep on sharing your knowledge with us..don't bother abt NEIL..I think he's jealous of your popular blog...God bless Dayaks (Iban, Orang Ulu, Bidayuh etc...)
